“Love is what’s in the room with you around the tree on Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.”
Our Christmas tree does not usually go up until everyone has time—the first weekend in December. While I do not usually partake in the physical labor, I always sit by, make random comments, and provide Christmas music. Worry not; I help put up the decorations.
Why am I revealing to you my Christmas tree endeavors? Simple. I’m away at school when the tree goes up. There is no “supervising”, playing music, and laughing with my family.
And I must confess: I miss all of it, but I would not change a thing.
I’m growing up.
We’re growing up.
We will have our own house soon, our own tree soon, our own families soon.
Don’t cherish your Christmas tree because of how big or beautiful it is.
Cherish the memories it has created.
Cherish the love it attracts.
Cherish your loved ones around it.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
